After my mum passed away, and with Dad in the early stages of dementia having sadly lost his speech, he joined the men’s Flourish and Succeed Men’s Group allotment group. From the very first day, he absolutely loved it — it gave him purpose, friendship, and joy. For me, it also gave a little breathing space each week, knowing he was safe and happy with the lads who so kindly took him under their wing.
Dad sadly passed away recently, and at his funeral we collected £500 in his memory. I couldn’t think of a better cause for it to go to than this wonderful group, which meant so much to him.
