In Memory Of Patrick Woosey

Maxine Murphy…. This year in memory of my 17 year old son Patrick Woosey, my husband Paul and I have chosen the Flourish & Succeed Teenager Group (CIC) which is on every Saturday morning 12pm to 1.00pm, who actively work alongside mentoring & coaching with local young people and giving them a safe place express themselves and chat.
Paul & I will be doing the Rock n Roll 10km on Sunday 24th October. For those of you who may not know me, my family and I have lived on Stockbridge Village for 45 years. And it’s that time of year again, a day doesn’t go past without me thinking of our Patrick, but this time of year more so. I re-live every moment from the night he went missing Friday 30th October to the day he was found Wednesday 4th November 2015. It’s your worst nightmare hitting you in the face. I lost my 17yr old son to suicide, how did that happen! I’m a good Mum, I didn’t see it coming in the slightest. I go back over conversations in my head to see if I missed a signal, anything that would indicate my son was unhappy with his life. My son Patrick at home with his family was his normal quiet self who seemed happy. He lived on his computer, and had a very bright future ahead of him. We never really know are children and I encourage everyone of you who read this to talk openly honestly about mental health and how it’s good to talk about it. There’s lots of support out there and if your child is shy and doesn’t fancy attending groups you can direct them to https://www.kooth.com for free, safe and anonymous support.
